This was the second year that the Animators of Chestermere was successful in receiving a community grant. Chestermere is focusing its project on understanding the issues affecting the youth in the community by distributing the Community Youth Survey, identifying needs and trends, and developing opportunities for support and capacity building to improve the physical and mental safety of youth. The Community Coalition and key stakeholders will rely on feedback from the Community Youth Survey and their multi-sectoral experience to develop and host a series of learning opportunities and community conversations that will encourage residents to take a more active role in supporting the physical and emotional health of the community as a whole.

As we have moved through this project, starting from the beginning of year one, we have noticed a change in relationship between the local Catholic schools (elementary and secondary), the Catholic School Division and our community.
