Social Connections Multi-Community Grant

This multi-community project aims to optimize the mental wellbeing of community members in Drumheller and Starland County by increasing awareness and promoting positive social connections. A key piece of this project involves ramping up distribution of “Street Guides,” an already successful pamphlet containing a mental health assessment and information about available resources. The project also includes offering training to community members at large, including SafeTalk, the Community Helpers Program, Mental Health First Aid, Tattered Teddies, and ASIST.

Impact/Outcome

This team produced & distributed 2000 “Street Guides’, these guides are business card sized and are easy to share and contain details to local community resources. The team also educated, connected, and changed mindsets within their area by hosting Mental Health First Aid, Small Talk and Assist training.
