Slave Lake's project builds on the last three years of work which has been supported through the Rural Mental Health Network, each with a variation on Healthy Connections and Positive Activities.
Slave Lake is a community of 6,600 people that serves a larger area including MD
of Lesser Slave River, and surrounding treaty reserves. Slave Lake offers various support services, but people often do not know about them, which is why they have added accessibility as the theme for this project.
Slave Lake will continue with the success of their previous projects with their Parade of Programs, Winter Wellness, cultural events, Human Library, a men's mental health forum, suicide vigil, and taking part in events organized by other organizations. New activities this year will include adding a focus on accessibility to their events and the addition of a youth mental health forum.
