Flourish Fest: Growing Community, Embracing Culture is a vibrant, community-driven, one-day cultural festival designed to foster belonging, bridge divides, and celebrate Smoky Lake’s growing diversity. As their region welcomes newcomers through the Rural 
Renewal Stream, bridging social divides and building a welcoming community for all is more important than ever.

This festival will bring people together through:
✓ Cultural performances & music from Indigenous, Ukrainian, Filipino, South Asian, and other local communities.
✓ A “Taste of the World” food experience highlighting diverse cuisines.
✓ Traditional games from around the world (e.g., Kabaddi, Lotería, Indigenous hand games).
✓ Storytelling & interactive displays to share cultural heritage and lived experiences.
✓ A community mural project, symbolizing unity and inclusion.

This event builds on ongoing community discussions about inclusion and mental well-being, where residents consistently expressed the need for larger, more interactive cultural events. These conversations, including insights gathered from past initiatives, showed a clear desire to create a space where diversity is celebrated, not just acknowledged.
