With this project, Stettler will focus their efforts on expanding the ground work they have laid with their previous work in community, with a focus on men's mental health and community engagement. They will do this by continuing to create safe spaces, and facilitating and promoting open engagement regarding Mental Health, ensuring positive conversations and inclusion. The goal of the project is to leave a positive mental health footprint in their community while creating a lasting impact and long-term positive change. This will be done by increasing the wellbeing, social connections, livelihood, and services of the community.
Project activities will include:
- Harvest Supper - this is an event that provides awareness and reduces stigma and food insecurity.
- Community Christmas & Dance - a free community event providing food security, inclusion, community engagement and relationship building.
- Suicide Walk - this event will be held on National Suicide Awareness Day
- Music for Mental Health - is a memorial event for a youth that died by suicide to bring awareness to mental health struggles.
- Attending Resource Fairs and providing mental health kits to the community
