This was the second year that Wainwright was successful in receiving a community grant. To read about Wainwright’s first year grant, click here.
Wainwright’s second grant focuses on sustaining wellbeing by expanding on the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub that was developed during the first term. The Animators will increase sustainability by continuing the online platform for the Mental Health Resource Hub and expanding the project by providing training to individuals in the community. These individuals will be trained as facilitators in the project’s Wellness Wheel (8 domains of wellness) philosophy and acquire a toolkit to promote ongoing learning while reducing stigma around Mental Health supports. This will provide more community members with knowledge about mental health and reduce stigma and barriers to community members seeking support.

From Our Animators
"We believe that there are always opportunities to learn if you are willing to listen. As such, we have made it a priority to “go where the people are”. Instead of setting up separate meetings, we have focused on the events that are happening within the community. People have said time and time again that they are too busy to add extra meetings, but they are more than willing to access and hear about the project when we are at places they are already going."
